1. THE SIMPLE PRESENT TENSE
the Simple Present Tense is use when we talk about
(I) Habitual Actions, for example : I go to the park every saturday.
(II) Permanent Actions or States, for example : I live in Bali, She works in restaurant.
The Formula of the Simple Present Tense is : S + VERB 1

2. THE PRESENT CONTINUOUS TENSE
the Present Continuous Tense is use when we talk about
(I) Actions Happening At or Around The Time Of Speaking
for example : What are you doing ? I'm writing a letter.
(II) Actions That Are Seen As Temporary (it's mean that we are doing something not every day until the end of the world but just a few times)
for example : I'm living in Bali.
(III) A Future Plan or Arrangement
for example : I'm buying a new car.
The Formula of the Present Continuous Tense is : S + TO BE + VERB ING

3. THE PRESENT PERFECT TENSE
the Present Perfect Tense is use when we talk about
(I) For an Action or Experience Which Happened in a Periode Up To The Moment of Speaking
for example : I've worked as a waiter, a plumber and an electrican.
(II) A Recent or Newsworthy Event (often with 'just')
for example : The French have just scored a try.
(III) With The Word 'Since' and 'For' to Indicate the Duration of an Activity Up To The Time Of Speaking
for example : I've worked here since 1998 , i've lived here for 12 years.
the formula is : S + HAVE/HAS + PAST PARTICIPLE

4. THE PRESENT PERFECT CONTINUOUS TENSE
the Present Perfect Continuous Tense is use when we talk about
(I) For an Action Started in the Past and Continuing Up To (and Beyond) the Moment of Speaking
for example : we've been sitting here for 2 hours
(II) For an Action Started in the Past and Continuing just Until Recently
the formula is : S + HAVE/HAS + PAST PARTICIPLE + GEROUND


5. SIMPLE PAST TENSE
it use when we talk about :
(I) For A Habitual Actions In The Past
for example : I played football every saturday as i was child
(II) For A 'permanent' Actions or State In A Period In The Past
for example : i lived in bali for three years
(III) For A Single, Simple Actions in The Past (simple in the sense of not being seen as being contunuous)
for example : I met the American President three years ago
The Formula is : S + VERB 2
but, if there is a modal in the sentence so, the modal that change into the second form and if there is 2 verb, so the first verb that change to the second form and the second verb must be to invinitive.

6. PAST CONTINUOUS TENSE
it use when we talk about :
(I) For an Action in The Past Seen as Ongoing or Lasting For a Longer Period (often contrasted with a shorter actions in the past)
for example : They were playing cards when i arrived
(II) For an Action in The Past Which Started Before and Continued After a Given Moment in the Past
for example :
Q : What were you doing at 8.30 last night ?
A : I was watching television

The Formula is : S + WAS/WERE + VERB ING

7. PAST PERFECT TENSE
it use when we talk about :
(I) For An Action Which Took Place Before Another Action or a Given Time In The Past
for example :
- he had left before i arrived
- he had left before 10 o'clock
NOTE : 'time lines' are very helpful for explaining this particular tense. Look at the following example :!!

PAST PERFECT--------------SIMPLE PAST-------------TIME OF SPEAKING
The Formula : S + HAD + PAST PARTICIPLE

8. PAST PERFECT CONTINUOUS
it use when we talk about :
An Action Begun At An Earlier Time In The Past And continuing Up To a Time In The Past
for example : At 10 o'clock they had been waiting for 20 minutes
The Formula : S + HAD BEEN + VERB ING

9. SIMPLE FUTURE TENSE
it use when we talk about :
(I) For an Unpremediate Decision
for example : There is the doorbel. I'll get it.
(II) For Opinions About The Future
for example : i think we will win the match
(III) For Facts About The Future
for example : The sun will rise at 6.32 am tomorrow
The Formula : S + WILL

10. FUTURE CONTINUOUS TENSE
it use when we talk about :
(I) For An Action Which Will Be Ongoing At a Certain Time in The Future
for example : This time tomorrow we'll be lying on the beach
(II) For An Action Which Will Take Place As A Matter Of Course
for example : i'll be passing the post office on my way home
The Formula : S + WILL BE + GEROUND

11. FUTURE PERFECT TENSE
it use when we talk about :
(I) For An Action Completed By A Given Time In The Future
for example : i'll have finished the job by 6.30
The Formula : S + WILL HAVE + PAST PARTICIPLE

12. THE FUTURE PERFECT CONTINUOUS TENSE
it use when we talk about :
(I) For An Action Continuing Up to (and possibly beyond) a time in the Future
for example : i'll have been working here for two years on December 18th
NOTE : we can also express the future with the simple present and 'going' plus full invinitive simple present.
simple present
- his plane arrives at 8.30
- we attack at dawn
NOTE : this is used for an action not under the control of the speaker
"Going" and Invinitive
- we are going yo buy a new house next year
- prices are going to rise soon
NOTE : this is used for (a) A Future Plan. It is usually less definitve than the present continuous (we're buying a new house next year). and (b) A prediction based on evidence)
The Formula : S + WILL HAVE BEEN + GEROUND or S + AUXIALARY + GOING TO + VERB 1

13. THE CONDITIONAL (SIMPLE)
it use when we talk about :
(I) For Polite Request
for example :
- would you pass the salt please ?
- i'd like a coffee, please
(II) For Offers
for example : would you like a coffee ?
(III) For Unlikely Conditions
for example : if i won the lotery, i would take a holiday

14. THE CONDITIONAL CONTINUOUS
it use when we talk about :
(I) As in (III) above, but Indicating A Longer, Ongoing Actions
for example : if i owned a yacht, i'd be sailing the high seas at the moment

15. THE PERFECT CONDITIONAL
it use when we talk about :
(I) For Conditional sentence (Type 3). See the Conditional Sentence Below
- if i'd gone to medical school, i would have become a doctor

16. THE PERFECT CONTINUOUS CONDITIONAL TENSE
example : I would have been playing
